Stagecoach management appointments in Scotland

Stagecoach announced today (30 May 2006) a series of appointments to strengthen the management of its bus operations in Scotland.

Details of the appointments are:

  • Charlie Mullen (54) is appointed Managing Director, Stagecoach Bluebird. He is currently Managing Director of Strathtay, a position he has held since June 1989, as was also formerly Finance Director of the company.
  • Doug Fleming (58) becomes Managing Director, Stagecoach East Scotland, comprising the Fife and Strathtay companies. Operations Director at Stagecoach in Fife since 2000, Doug Fleming has previously held senior positions with Travel Dundee.
  • Sandy Brydon (63) is made Engineering Director, Stagecoach East Scotland. He has been Engineering Director at Stagecoach in Fife since 1991, having previously held a variety of posts in the Scottish Bus Group.
  • Tom Robertson (54) is appointed Assistant Engineering Director, Stagecoach East Scotland. Tom has been Engineering Director of Strathtay since December 1997. He has worked with Strathtay since he commenced employment in 1968 and has held a number of engineering posts within the company. Along with Sandy Brydon, he will share responsibility for the East Scotland businesses.
  • Jim Gardner (53) becomes Commercial Manager for Stagecoach Bluebird. Commercial Manager of Strathtay since 1993, he has worked in the bus industry since 1970 and with Strathtay since 1985. Jim Gardner will continue to have involvement in commercial and network issues at Strathtay.
  • Lisa Henry (28), Marketing Manager for Stagecoach Bluebird and Fife since 2001, is appointed Marketing Manager, East Scotland and Bluebird. She will take on additional responsibility for marketing at Strathtay in her expanded role.

Robert Andrew, Managing Director, Stagecoach Scotland, said: “These appointments will strengthen our management team across Bluebird, Fife and Strathtay, and ensure we continue to offer high quality services that attract more passengers to bus travel.”
